Self catering as business and pleasure
It is getting towards the end of season, and it has been a journey for Essence Property and a journey for the guests.
Essence Property is essentially a family business, and this London-based family uses all its members to share the work and joys.
I will be starting a blog which is hopefully of interest to holiday makers, but also may be of interest to others getting to grips with the modern era of marketing.
I may also describe some of my discoveries of Newquay and the area.
Let me start with some highlights.
Welcoming 5 sets of families arriving in June, having cleaned and prepared all the properties, and watching the children itching to rush down to the beach as soon as the car has parked.
Discovering the other side of Pentire peninsular, and going down to the little boat which takes you across to Crantock. Haven't made the journey yet, but still amazed I only discovered this part of the area this year after visiting Newquay for many years. So different from other parts.
A long run from Fistral beach to Watergate Bay and back, as part of marathon training. The hills are steep, the coast path is narrow, the scenary is superb.
Food at Headland hotel, Atlantic hotel and others, excellent fish.
Wonderful weather in June and later.
